[Polish Craze] – Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Fuzz-sea

I saw these on the shelves in Walgreens while on my Portland trip and just had to get it. It was $6.99 (I believe).

It looked really interesting in the bottle, but after I applied, I was quite disappointed by it. It was not at all what I had thought/imagined it would look/feel like.

With all the little straight glitter pieces in the bottle, I thought it was going to feel somewhat grass like, and looks a bit grass like. But I suppose I misinterpreted the “fuzzy” in the name. I guess it’s more like fuzzy sweater, not fuzzy grass/fur.

Anyways, I tried to do a mani without knowing the properties of this polish, and it did not look that great. I pulled the teal and yellow from the fuzzy coat colour I had purchased for a French tip, and solid fuzzy coat on the ring finger. That was 4 coats of it, and it took too long to dry and so I took this off after this picture was taken. I’ll have to find a better way for this polish to work.

 

[Nail Blog] – updates

Hi all, haven’t updated in a while. here are some manicures I did in the past week. I seriously gave up on growing my nails out haha. It’s still yellowy…which makes me sad. Anyways, after these manicures I had some broken nails and so I cut them off, so now I can’t do anything with them…

purple tip with white waffle cross design on top that’s badly done and pink underline. This one I kept for a week or so

white tip, red waffle cross design that’s also horribly done . This I kept for a whole 15mins before I took it off and replaced it with the purple tip, because the white just wouldn’t dry (it was a matte Revlon white, forgot what it’s called)

Sally Hansen nail sticker, lace pattern. I am starting to love these nail stickers they last so long and they look so nice, even on short nails! Nothing ever looks nice on short nails (cuz I have man hands), and they are so easy to use! I just wish they were cheaper =p

Well that’s it people, I am being lazy again. I am not sure what I’ll be blogging about next. Perhaps I’ll finally post up the last dine out restaurant I had LAST YEAR (LOL). I procrastinate too much XD

 

Back from Vaca. First post: Recent mani

It’s actually been almost 2 weeks since I got back from Portland. I know I said I would post after I got back. But I procrastinated… I didn’t buy much in Portland, and only one make up item. I’ll post my haul if I have nothing else to post about. Lol.

So to start the first post in a while I have decided to go with a mani that i just did last night. I have been very patiently waiting for my nails to grow longer and look healthier, and it has not happened. So I decided to put that on hold and just wear polish. So I recently got the Sally Hansen nail peel sticker (I think that’s what it’s called) it was 40% off at Rexall so I got it for 5.50 (I think). Anyways, I just had to try it out. But I thought the stickers were too expensive to use it all up at once, so I only did 1 finger on each hand, and left the rest to my trusty konad.

To my surprise the nail stickers were pretty easy to use. Just wish they weren’t so pricy… I will update on how long they last. So far they look pretty promising.

I will try not to procrastinate and blog more. Apologies 🙂

Disney Inspired

Yet another nail blog…I don’t know why I’ve been feeling the need to change my nails almost every week (in this case everyday). I wasn’t too happy with the Canucks nail thing I did, and thought about doing characters, and thought of Mickey Mouse, and who better to go with Mickey than Minnie herself! I don’t know why I thought of them, they aren’t my favourite cartoon characters. I think because they have more memorable points (being so old they kinda have to).  So in an effort to be different, I decided to share how I start the process of painting my nails.

This is what I normally would do before starting a complicated mani design. I learned to do this after having to take off and repaint base coats and wait for them to dry again and again if I ruin a nail, or didn’t like the design on it. And having to take off nail polish usually invovles ruining another nail(s), because I always accidentally touch the cotton pad to another nail(s). Before I start any crazy nail designs, I google images of the inspirations, and draw out what is in my head (with a pen). Then I do the actual design on paper. Of course this is a lot easier than drawing on my own hand.

Of course, even with all the planning, it doesn’t always turn out exactly the same. Mostly because it’s a lot harder to draw on nails than paper, but also because I like to make spontaneous changes. The top of Mickey’s head (on left ring finger) for example, I decided to put in the eyebrows and eyes last minute because my mom couldn’t make out what it was suppose to be. And the Minnie face on the middle finger of the right hand, originally I only planed to have the outline of the nose and eyes, but thought it looked odd, and added the white face. I was going to stop there, then thought it still looked weird, and added the black bits. I was pondering on whether I should put the bow up, but lazy-ness got me and I decided not to.

Right Hand:

The Minnie head on the thumb didn’t turn out that well..one of the ear is kind of pointy instead of round…but I am not a lefty, so I don’t think I can do any better LOL.

Left Hand:

The left hand turned out better than I expected. I love love the Mickey head on the thumb! The only issue I have is probably the image on the middle finger, can people tell what that is? (Answer’s below)

This took me quite a long time, 2 and half hours. I think it’s one of the most complicated ones I have done so far. Hopefully, I will be able to start some other blogs that are non-nail related soon (haha). we’ll see how long this one can stay before I get bored of it. LOL

Vancouver is Hockey Town

After removing the Christmas nails I was stomped as to what else to put on them. Then while watching the Nucks play the Flyers, an idea popped into my head!

I became a hockey fanatic after the 2010 winter Olympics and became fans of Luongo and the Sedin twins, so naturally I started watching Canuck games. I am pretty amazed at how much I have learned about hockey in the past year lol. Anyways, here’s how I wear my Nucks pride  XD I may be too crazy, but at least I am not spending $100+ on a jersey (yet)
